Dear Republicans,
It is time to demonstrate your bipartisanship by supporting the Obama Tax Doctrine, also known as the Taxation Proclamation. What is the Taxation Proclamation? It is the refusal to permit any government to take 20 percent or more of its citizens' earnings through taxation. As Obama explained in his speech in Ghana,
Repression can take many forms, and too many nations, even those that have elections, are plagued by problems that condemn their people to poverty. No country is going to create wealth if its leaders exploit the economy to enrich themselves...or if police -- if police can be bought off by drug traffiickers. No business wants to invest in a place where the government skims 20 percent off the top...or the head of the port authority is corrupt. No person wants to live in a society where the rule of law gives way to the rule of brutality and bribery. That is not democracy, that is tyranny, even if occasionally you sprinkle an election in there. And now is the time for that style of government to end.
Republicans, this is the type of change in which we can believe and support. Like Obama, we must demand that our own government not tax any person or corporation at rates of 20 percent or higher. After all, we are not named Al Capone or Tony Rezko; we should not have to intimidate or bribe others just to participate in the American Dream. Take the case of Michael Jackson, for example. To have the government take 20 percent or more of Michael Jackson's earnings [for which he has already paid taxes] away from his children just because he has died amounts to unjustifiable tyranny. We must not stand by and permit the government to terrorize Michael's children in such a way!
Likewise, when ExxonMobil strives as a company to earn a dime or so per gallon of gasoline it refines and delivers to the local gas station, we must not permit corrupt state and federal governments to skim off the top two to five times that just so the company is permitted to sell the fuel to us! Obama has correctly likened this government behavior to extortion by crooked policemen and bureaucrats.
Republicans, heed Obama's words here! Demand that income tax rates be lowered immediately for those individuals and corporations which pay 20 percent or more of their earnings to the Internal Revenue Service, and demand it now. Obama and his fellow Democrats in Washington will support you in this, I am certain. In fact, Obama himself probably would have written such a bill had he not been running for the presidency for two of the four years he served in Congress. Therefore, when you name or talk about this bill, be certain to credit Obama with the inspiration and the courage to address this government corruption.
Then, after you and the Democrats pass the Taxation Proclamation, both parties can continue to work together to deal with some of the other issues Obama pointed out in his speech in Ghana. For example, he stated that
People everywhere should have the right to start a business or get an education without paying a bribe. We have a responsibility to support those who act responsibly and to isolate those who don't, and that is exactly what America will do.
I agree! Let us work together to eliminate stupid regulations that make it nearly impossible for companies to build new power plants and refineries, or for small, hole-in-the-wall restaurants to open up for business. Let us eliminate government programs that encourage people to borrow money for houses they cannot afford, especially since many of these same government programs provide further assistance to those people who later fail to repay their loans. By supporting those who act responsibly and by isolating those who do not, we will be acting in a manner warranting the approval of both God and Obama.
As Obama noted later in his historic speech,
These steps are about more than growth numbers on a balance sheet. They're about whether a young person with an education can get a job that supports a family; a farmer can transfer their goods to market; an entrepreneur with a good idea can start a business. It's about the dignity of work; it's about the opportunity that must exist for Africans in the 21st century.
This is true for both Africans and Americans. Therefore, work with Obama to create a job-friendly environment that is not overburdened by government taxation and red tape. Fight against having the government buy [for thousands of dollars apiece] used cars that would otherwise be available to Americans who cannot afford expensive new cars. Fight against the forced unionization of card check.
Fight against the foolish global warming/cooling/temperature-stagnation concerns of the carbon tax. Fight against the racism, sexism, and activism that has permeated our judicial system. Fight against government programs designed to strong-arm the country's citizens to accept government-run health care. Fight against the current myriad of proposals that are seemingly designed to overthrow our Judeo-Christian, free-market, individual-based society. Fight those who want to turn our republic into a Soviet-style oligarch--or an idiocracy [rule by a group of bureaucratic fools]. But most importantly, fight against the blasphemy that claims that only government is big enough to solve our current problems.
Finally, take to heart these words from Barack Obama:
These things can only be done if all of you take responsibility for your future. And it won't be easy. It will take time and effort. There will be suffering and setbacks. But I can promise you this: America will be with you every step of the way — as a partner, as a friend....Freedom is your inheritance. Now, it is your responsibility to build upon freedom's foundation. And if you do, we will look back years from now to places like Accra and say this was the time when the promise was realized; this was the moment when prosperity was forged, when pain was overcome, and a new era of progress began. This can be the time when we witness the triumph of justice once more. Yes we can. Thank you very much. God bless you.
